Garuda is a bird-like creature with huge wings that is common in Hindu as well as Buddhist mythology. It is a popular symbol for art objects in India, Nepal, Ceylon, Indonesia, Mongolia and other countries.
Among metal statues made by Newari artisans from Patan in Nepal, one may discover a Garuda statue every now and then, although they are not too often made in these days anymore.

Naga Kanya is a Hindu goddess. Easy to recognize. Her upper body is human and her lower body is that of a snake. She carries a crown with jewels on her head, and out of her neck five snake heads are forming a kind of crown. Naga Kanya means daughter of Naga. And the Nagas are responsible for the rain. This is it.
Maybe it is because I like elephants in general, or for whatever reason. I like this Ganesh elephant character who looks so funny and kind of cute. You can find Ganesh images in Nepal mainly in the form of metal statues created by a few Newari families.
