Yeti - artelino

Yeti?Reports about a wild snowman, a huge creature half man and half animal, living in remote and high altitude places of the Himalayas are at least 2,000 years old. Yeti was already described by the Roman writer and historian Plinius the Elder. But up to our days no hard evidence has been found. But speculations continue.

Darjeeling - artelino

View of Darjeeling.Slide Show of Darjeeling in Northern India. The photographs were taken in 1982. I was traveling to Darjeeling from Kathmandu by bus, jeep. Not really funny. My original intention had been to visit the former small Himalayan kingdom of Sikkim. Somehow I even had attained a special visa permit for Sikkim. But I abandoned the destination Sikkim and decided to head for Darjeeling.

impressions from the HinmalayasThis page shows a color slide show of photographs from the Himalaya region, mostly from Nepal. Most of the pictures were taken in the 1970s and early 1980s. They date back to a time when Nepal had no TV, practically no cars except for a few Japanese taxis, and when Nepal was the shangri-la paradise for European hippies - and a few Americans too.Smile
