Darjeeling - artelino

View of Darjeeling.Slide Show of Darjeeling in Northern India. The photographs were taken in 1982. I was traveling to Darjeeling from Kathmandu by bus, jeep. Not really funny. My original intention had been to visit the former small Himalayan kingdom of Sikkim. Somehow I even had attained a special visa permit for Sikkim. But I abandoned the destination Sikkim and decided to head for Darjeeling.

Slideshow Impressions from the Himalayas - artelino

impressions from the HinmalayasThis page shows a color slide show of photographs from the Himalaya region, mostly from Nepal. Most of the pictures were taken in the 1970s and early 1980s. They date back to a time when Nepal had no TV, practically no cars except for a few Japanese taxis, and when Nepal was the shangri-la paradise for European hippies - and a few Americans too.Smile
