About artelino.eu

Four Dragons - Tibetan Rug DesignThis web site was opened in April of 2010 to sell traditional Tibetan rugs and other Himalayan arts and crafts products.

The artelino GmbH was founded in 2001 as a small family business - located in Icking, Germany. Since 2001 we have sold and shipped worldwide more than 30,000 Japanese and Chinese art prints.

My passion for the people and cultures of Nepal and Tibet goes back to the late 1970s when I arrived for the first time in Nepal. This web site is both a business and a personal mission to establish the sales of these beautiful traditional Tibetan rugs as a win-win project, bringing a great product to the homes of European, American, Australian and Asian buyers, providing people in Nepal with an income and helping to preserve an old tradition and craft.

Shop Currencies - why not in Dollar? - artelino

Dragon - detail from Tibetan rugVisitors to our web site from North America or Canada may be wondering why we are showing our prices in Euro only and not in Dollar as well.

This is indeed a drawback, we know. The reason is of purely technical nature. The software development tool that we use has several severe bugs if we use more than one currency. We are trying to find a solution for that problem. But it will not be on short term. Buyers from the USA should know that the currency rate that is applied to their charge is not fixed by artelino but by the payment provider who handles the payment method that you select. This is either Paypal™, Saferpay™ or your bank.
